Which rocks are porous? Which rocks can be scratched? Which rocks will float?

Making rocks. Metamorphic, sedimentary or igneous rocks? We used sweets to see how different types of rocks are formed.

How are fossils formed? We found out all about Mary Anning and her discovery of fossils. We explored making our own fossils using bread and sweets.

Testing magnets

Which magnet is the strongest? How could we find out?

We needed to find the strongest magnet to use on the cage door to keep the peregrine falcon chicks from escaping.
