Phonics in Nursery

We use the Little Wandle Foundations activities to support the development of phonics and early reading in Nursery. 
 

This includes learning about the initial sounds in words, exploring rhymes and also taking part in lots of listening games and activities.

Nursery complete daily phonics sessions that support their knowledge and skills with sounds, blending and rhymes. The children enjoy playing:

• What's in the box?
• Blend from the box
• Bertha the Bus is going to the zoo. Who does she see as she passes through?
• Singing and talking about rhymes
