  • Free School Lunch hamper update

    Tue 31 Mar 2020

    Free school meals
Shire Catering will provide a basic lunch food hamper on Thursday for children eligible for Free School meals.

Please phone school to order one.

It will include bread, some tinned goods, potatoes, fruit, yoghurt and cheese. There will be a limited amount of ham to order. The hamper will cover 2 weeks of lunches for your child.

We will post on FB when they can be collected. This will replace the current sandwiches.

We are in constant talks with Shire Catering about whether vouchers will replace the food hampers after Easter.
Please note that at the moment WE DO NOT HAVE FOOD VOUCHERS.

A huge thank you to Penny and the team at Shire Catering for their continued hard work and support for our Woodrow families.

Please share- especially with people not on FB
    Thanks

Unfortunately our subscription to TT Rockstars has expired, but Mathsframe and Hit the Button are alternatives that are still available. Alternatively, check out the year group resources in the Home Learning section of this website for a wealth of other links.
  • Free School Lunches update

    Fri 27 Mar 2020

We know that some schools are giving out vouchers and hampers. They generally have their own catering teams in school and so have been able to do this before the government scheme has been finalised.

Our free lunches are made offsite by Shire Catering - therefore because we have a contract with them, they arrange the food not us as a school.

They provide food for a number of schools so are super busy and doing a great job. They have been working on arranging hampers for a week so that families do not need to come to school daily to collect sandwiches.

Their difficulty at the moment is sourcing household sized portions of food as they usually buy catering size!

Their aim is to provide sandwiches for Monday and Tuesday, then all being well have hampers ready for Wednesday (with things like pasta and baked beans- a standard selection of good basics).

If this goes ahead we will be asking you to ring and order on Monday. The hampers will then be available for collection from school.

We will update you on Monday.

  • Free School Lunches for next week

    Thu 26 Mar 2020
If you are eligible for free school meals and would like to order ham or cheese sandwiches for collection next week, please phone the school office today on 527619
    Thanks
  • Bell Heath

    Wed 25 Mar 2020

    Update on Bell Heath
The trip has now been officially cancelled. Thank you for your patience with this.

From early next week, we will be posting cheques as refunds for your paid balance towards the trip.

We can send one cheque per child TO THE HOME ADDRESS WE HAVE ON OUR FILES.

Please telephone the school office between 9am and 3pm or leave a message on the answer phone (not Facebook) to advise who your cheque should be made payable to.

When the cheques are sent out please sign and return the enclosed receipt or phone to inform us of safe receipt.

Thank you again for your understanding at this difficult time.

    Please share.
This update is in the school website for anyone not in Facebook.

  • Home Learning Update

    Mon 23 Mar 2020

    Home learning update
Please do not worry about children doing work- there is no expectation that children have to do the learning that is on the school website.
We are simply offering suggestions for parents.

We realise that people cannot all print at home - you might want to use the ideas though and write them in the children's book. Again, we are NOT saying you have to do this.

We understand that you do not want your children to fall behind and we are doing our very best to support with this.

Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to deliver paper based learning to families. Currently, we do not have the capacity to create paper based work for collection either.

    Stay Home, Stay Safe
    Thank you for your support

  • Free School Lunches 11.15am

    Mon 23 Mar 2020

If you have ordered a free school packed lunch, they have arrived at school.
Please help yourself from the main entrance.

In order to stick to social distancing advice, please think about 1 of you collecting for your friends and neighbours and dropping the lunches off at their homes.

Also please do not all rush out now - the lunches are fine where they are for 2 hours.

Remember - Stay Home, Stay Safe

  • UPDATE

    Mon 23 Mar 2020

Thank you for keeping your children as safe as possible at home - it is clear that this is the best place for everyone currently.

    Stay home, stay safe

If we are looking after your child this week, we will continue to ask you to do all you can to find a way to care for your child at home.

If you know of children sending their child to other schools too, please share this message. We must work together to get through this time with as few cases and deaths as possible. We must play our part in limiting the spread.

    Thank you

  • Free School Lunches

    Sat 21 Mar 2020

If you ordered a free school packed lunch for Monday, please collect it from the main entrance between 12pm and 1pm.

To help ensure social distancing is followed if you can collect for more than your family and then deliver that would be fantastic. #Be kind

Unfortunately, we will not be in the main entrance to help or chat - more social distancing.

Do not arrive early or wait around please. The lunches may not be there before 12pm. If you could stagger the collection too, that will help - don't all come up for 12pm. There will be enough food for everyone who ordered.

If at all possible, don't bring children up to school with you.

Sorry to sound a bit pushy, but we all have to think carefully about social distancing and do as much as we can to keep everyone well.

    Thanks xx
