  • Reopening after bad weather and dangerous conditions.

    Mon 25 Jan 2021
The school site is open tomorrow for those children who already have a place in class. If the pathways are icy in the morning you will see us at the front door ready to take your Y1, Y2, Y3 and Y4 children in through the foyer. They will go directly through an internal courtyard and into their classroom. YR children will go through the front door and the school hall. or if it is busy we will direct you along the nursery pathway. Please bear with us if we ask you to wait for a moment in the carpark until we can get children into school safely with social distancing in place. Thanks

  • School closure

    Mon 25 Jan 2021
The weather overnight and early in the morning is forecast to be very cold which means snow and slush on the ground turning to ice.

As we believe the school grounds, surrounding roads and pathways will be dangerous for the school community, we have made the decision to close tomorrow for safety reasons.

We apologise for the late notice for parents with critical worker jobs. Home Learning will continue tomorrow.

     Please share this post.

     Thanks.

  • Final post for tonight

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

    Final post for tonight...

We are so sad not to be able to welcome everyone back to school tomorrow, but we have to do what is needed to get through to the other side of all of this.

We will be working hard to make home learning work as well as we can for everyone for the next few weeks. Details to follow as soon as possible.

We will do all we can to continue to support our Woodrow families in any way we can.

Tomorrow will be hectic, so we thank you for your patience and understanding.

Our biggest hope is that we all make it through the pandemic safely and we will be together again soon.

    Look out for updates.

    Take care everyone xxx

  • Home Learning

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

    Home Learning

We have plans for children to access lessons online, however as the government were insisting that schools would be open, this is what we have prepared for his week.

We will need tomorrow at least to be able to let you know how the home learning will work.

Thank you for your patience and support with this. We will be working hard tomorrow to share the relevant information with you.

  • Nursery starters

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

Unfortunately, we will not be able to welcome new starters to Nursery as planned this week.

We are a school with a nursery class and NOT a private nursery. All schools must close. So as we understand it, our whole school will close.

We may be able to offer some Nursery provision for children of critical workers. If you think you fall in to this category, please contact us tomorrow morning.

  • Free school meals

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

Children eligible for Free School Meals.

We will provide a simple sandwich lunch for children who need to be in school tomorrow.

As things stand tonight, we cannot offer a lunch tomorrow for children who are at home.

We will be speaking to the caterers tonight and awaiting information on any possible food vouchers and will update you tomorrow.

If you are struggling for food tomorrow please contact us and we will do our best to try to arrange some emergency food.

  • Children of critical workers

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

    Tuesday 5th January

    Everyone must stay at home.

Only the children of critical workers and vulnerable children may come in to school - the details on who can do this are detailed here. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

EVEN IF YOU QUALIFY AS A CRITICAL WORKER, WE ASK THAT YOU KEEP YOUR CHILD AT HOME (OR IN THEIR SUPPORT/CHILDCARE BUBBLE) TOMORROW IF POSSIBLE AND CONTACT US BY PHONE OR MESSENGER TOMORROW MORNING TO DISCUSS PROVISION FOR YOUR CHILD.

We will be talking to any parents on the school playground tomorrow to discuss if your child should be in school before letting them in to class.

If you are the parent or carer of a child classed as vulnerable or a child with an EHCP, please keep your child at home tomorrow and we will be phoning you after 9.15am to discuss their individual needs.

  • School closure

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

Thanks for your patience everyone. Obviously its very late to change all of our and your plans for tomorrow, but we are going to try to cover as much as we can in the next series of posts.

Please bear with us as we were ready for in class learning and so there is a lot to arrange! The most important thing is you all stay safe at home tomorrow.

Please do not message us tonight about individual queries as we will not be able to answer. We will be able to speak to you directly tomorrow though after 10am.

YOUR CHILDREN MUST STAY AT HOME TOMORROW (OR WITH YOUR SUPPORT BUBBLE OR CHILDCARE BUBBLE) UNLESS YOU ARE A CRITICAL WORKER AND HAVE NO OTHER MEANS OF CHILD CARE.
