Please help keep Woodrow Swimming Pool open.
Weʼre raising £10,000 to help buy a new liner and keep the Woodrow First School Pool open. The pool has helped around 3000 children learn to swim for 50 years.
Children love to learn to swim and what a life skill it is. We are lucky enough to be able to give children this at Woodrow Pool. This brilliant resource has helped nearly 3000 children at Woodrow First and Nursery to learn to swim over the last 50 years. It has also been enjoyed by other schools including the local special school and by community groups such as Brownies and Babyswim.
However, now it is in desperate need of major repairs. The Governors of Woodrow have always been committed to funding the pool even though it has eaten a large and increasing slice of the school budget each year. Sadly, we have come to the point where the liner needs replacing and we just don't have the funds to do this. It would be a massive shame if the current and future generations of Woodrow children were to miss out on learning to swim [especially as other local Redditch pools close due to lack of funding].
Local budgets do not include funding to manage the expensive upkeep of these invaluable resources. Woodrow is one of the very few schools still to have a pool on site and we are asking as a last resort for donations to replace the liner. With your help, we hope to keep Woodrow Pool open.
