Welcome to the Reception Home Learning page!

We will post some new learning on here everyday.  There will be a daily maths and literacy lesson and one other activity for you to complete.

When introducing these activities to your child, start with the green activity in the middle. If your child needs a further challenge, then try the dark green activity. If you think the middle green activity is a bit tricky then guide your child to the light green activity.

If you have any questions about the home learning  please email homelearning@woodrow.worcs.sch.uk and put your child’s name and class teacher in the subject box. A member of staff will do their best to respond to you as soon as possible in school hours.

Your child's teacher may also email you to check how the learning is going or guide you to specific activities which will support your individual child. They will contact you using the email address you provided to school, please check this.

Please also use this email address to share your child’s work with their teacher, we would love to see photos and read descriptions of the work the children are doing.

We look forward to hearing all about your learning!

We know how tricky it is to manage home learning at the moment. We are changing our activities to try and guide you to which tasks are the most important each day.

Ideally your child should complete the must and should activities everyday. These are the teaching tasks which are really important in Reception. If they can do this, they are doing a great job!

Anything else they are doing is going to support them even further. Your child's class teacher will be able to chat things through with you over the phone or via email, so please get in touch.

This weeks story is "How do Dinosaurs count to 10". Watch the video and see if you can recognise some of the staff.

Phonics

Phonics is really important and should be practised everyday, like it is in school.

Have a look at these.....they can be used everyday, not just once.

Remember to have a look at the Reception Family Learning videos to help with phonics at home.

Writing

Below is a copy of the sheet we sent home to support the children form letters. We have also added the writing family learning video as this may help you further.

Reading

Some kind of reading should be done everyday too.

Here are some activities to have a go at.  These can be done in small chunks and repeated, not just used once.

Remember to look at the Reception Family Learning videos to help with reading at home.
