After our success in setting up the festival in Scotland, we were contacted by The National Trust to help them with a very important project.
They asked us to set up a temporary campsite for a team of ornithologists who will be investigating why the number of pufflings at the site has been declining over the past few years.
After agreeing to take on the commission, we began investigating how we could ensure that the campsite had no negative impact on the environment. We pride ourselves on being a sustainable team! We decided to use renewable energy to provide electricity for the whole site.
After doing some research, we decided that solar panels and wind turbines would be the most effective forms of renewable energy. However, we had to change our plans after we were contacted by the RSPB and informed that wind turbines can be dangerous to birds. We instead chose to use solar cookers for cooking food, as these convert light from the sun into heat energy, so no electricity is needed!
Once our plans had been agreed, we began the difficult task of collecting all of the equipment from our warehouse and transporting it down to Dancing Ledge.
We worked hard and were very proud of our finished site!
However, the local people are not happy with the camp site being on Dancing Ledge...
