Before starting their artwork, the children explored and compared the work of Marela Zacarius and Charlie French, discussing with they liked and disliked.
1) They explored the colour wheel and created 3 primary colour backgrounds, and 3 secondary colour backgrounds. They loved mixing different colours together and making predictions about what they would create! These will make the foundations for our layering artwork later on.
2) They created their own tools, using anything but a paintbrush just like Charlie French! They considered the purpose of their tools, would it swipe, poke, dab, scrape, scratch or brush the paint onto the paper?
RE: Who do Christians say made the world?
They have learnt all about the creation story through song, action, sequencing pictures and making creation books to retell the story. They look amazing!
We have had lots of conversations around the creation of the world and different ways that Christians might say thank you to god. The children thought about what they are thankful for and who they might want to thank; family, teachers and friends were are few of their ideas.
