Nursery have been very busy since returning after Easter. We have welcomed new children into the nursery class and they have been settling well into the routine as well as building relationships with staff and other children.
We have been learning about the story Goldilocks and the 3 bears. The children have enjoyed book creating, painting, building bear houses and engaging in drama as a whole class. The children noticed the characters in the story and the emotions they were feeling. In class we have introduced the blue zone. The blue zone is when you are sad, tired and poorly. We used this zone to identify the feelings of Goldilocks. It is also important to use this zone with the children as a way of them talking about how they are feeling. It has been lovely to hear the children using the vocabulary in class. We have a blue zone box where they can choose a pillow, teddy or blanket to support them in this zone.
The children were very excited about their reading books today and we hope you enjoy reading time together at home. The books are returned on a Friday and the children will choose a new book to bring home. Happy reading everyone! 😄
