Who do Christians say made the world?
They have learnt all about the creation story through song, action, sequencing pictures and making creation books to retell the story. They look amazing!
We have had lots of conversations around the creation of the world and different ways that Christians might say thank you to god. The children thought about what they are thankful for and who they might want to thank; family, teachers and friends were are few of their ideas.
How should we care for others?
The children have started their new RE topic by listening to the story 'Jesus blesses the children' and discussing it's meaning. Some ideas were:
1) God thinks children are special
2) God thinks people should look after and be kind to each other
They then thought about what makes them unique and special. They drew a classmates name at random and wrote 5 special things about them within a flower. It was lovely to see the positive attitudes the children have towards one another!
They listened to the story of the good samaritan and considered how we can each be good samaritans and help one another. They wrote down their ideas and made them into a paper chain for the classroom!
How can we care for the world?
Next the children considered ways in which we can help protect the planet. They wrote their ideas on a hand and made an earth collage to attach them to.
