Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment. Remember - our newsletters are uploaded to the website every week
Home learning update
Please do not worry about children doing work- there is no expectation that children have to do the learning that is on the school website.
We are simply offering suggestions for parents.
We realise that people cannot all print at home - you might want to use the ideas though and write them in the children's book. Again, we are NOT saying you have to do this.
We understand that you do not want your children to fall behind and we are doing our very best to support with this.
Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to deliver paper based learning to families. Currently, we do not have the capacity to create paper based work for collection either.
Stay Home, Stay Safe
Thank you for your support
If you have ordered a free school packed lunch, they have arrived at school.
Please help yourself from the main entrance.
In order to stick to social distancing advice, please think about 1 of you collecting for your friends and neighbours and dropping the lunches off at their homes.
Also please do not all rush out now - the lunches are fine where they are for 2 hours.
Remember - Stay Home, Stay Safe
Thank you for keeping your children as safe as possible at home - it is clear that this is the best place for everyone currently.
Stay home, stay safe
If we are looking after your child this week, we will continue to ask you to do all you can to find a way to care for your child at home.
If you know of children sending their child to other schools too, please share this message. We must work together to get through this time with as few cases and deaths as possible. We must play our part in limiting the spread.
Thank you

If you ordered a free school packed lunch for Monday, please collect it from the main entrance between 12pm and 1pm.
To help ensure social distancing is followed if you can collect for more than your family and then deliver that would be fantastic. #Be kind
Unfortunately, we will not be in the main entrance to help or chat - more social distancing.
Do not arrive early or wait around please. The lunches may not be there before 12pm. If you could stagger the collection too, that will help - don't all come up for 12pm. There will be enough food for everyone who ordered.
If at all possible, don't bring children up to school with you.
Sorry to sound a bit pushy, but we all have to think carefully about social distancing and do as much as we can to keep everyone well.
Thanks xx
So, we have a question for you...
How many of you would be interested in doing a bit of Mantle of the Expert at home?
We are working on a way of sharing some videos, photos and tasks on Facebook and the school website. The children could then use what we post to do some follow up tasks with you...
If there is enough interest we will try to start something on Monday 😊
What do you think?
Please share 👍
Also please ask people who are not in FB bit could access the school website.
Thanks

Stay safe, speak to you soon x
We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our Woodrow family - children, parents, carers, families, governors and staff.
Everyone has been amazing at this terrible time. Let's keep on being kind to each other and look out for one another.
We were very sad to close today, but although it is difficult we know it is for the best for all of our loved ones.
We plan to stay in touch with as many of you as possible through FB and the school website.
If we must stay closed in the longer term, we will find a way for Year 4 to celebrate their Woodrow years. This is something to plan on another day though.
For now, please follow the government advice.
#Stay in, Stay safe
Sending heaps of love, best wishes and virtual hugs to you all
From everyone at Woodrow xxx
If you are self isolating, you MUST NOT come to school to collect resources or free school lunches.
*You must do your bit to keep everyone safe please - remember the medical advice is "Stay in, Stay safe".
Unfortunately, we cannot make home deliveries, you must make arrangements for someone else to collect for you.
Thank you for respecting this request.
School Closure Update
If your child is eligible for Free School Meals you can collect a packed lunch daily
NEXT MONDAY TO FRIDAY
from the foyer in the main entrance.
We will let you know the time for collection as soon as Shire Catering have finalised their plans (they have other schools which they are providing for too so please be patient).
You must phone the school office today on 527619 to order packed lunches for the whole of next week.
Please state ham or cheese sandwich.
THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO UNIVERSAL FREE SCHOOL MEALS FOR YR, Y1 AND Y2.
This service is only for children eligible for FREE SCHOOL MEALS and we have a list of these children in the school office.
This service will be reviewed next week. Check here or on the school website for updates.
Also please share with other Woodrow First School and Nursery families.
If you have children at other schools you must check their arrangements yourself.
Parents of key workers will be contacted separately by phone today.
